The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACUCOA) endorses for accreditation the eight academic programs of Jose Maria College Inc. (JMCFI) following the Remote Virtual Accreditation (RVA) conducted last October 18-19, 2021.
During the online interview, Dr. Felix C. Chavez, Jr., school president of JMCFI, said that the seal of approval simply affirms that JMCFI sets the standards of excellence.
“This is the product of our teamwork. Keep the fire burning! Level 1 next”, he added.
Dr. Josefina D. Ortega, Chairperson of the Accreditation Committee in her support statement to the president, said that PACUCOA‘s decision motivates the school to do more.
“This affirms the Assured, Consistent, and Quality (ACQ) brand of education of the school which upholds the level of excellence we’ve always wanted the school to be.”, she stressed.
All eight academic programs that were applied to undergo PACUCOA’s Remote Virtual Accreditation (RVA) received their certificates of endorsement for candidate status accreditation last December 18, 2021 at Quezon City, Philippines.

These programs are the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED), Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (BSED), Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BSC), Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BSP), Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW), and Integrated Basic Education’s (IBED) Elementary and Junior High School.
The said status is good for the period December 2021 to December 2023 giving the school the time to prepare the requirements for compliance and submission.
The result of the compliance will determine whether or not it will step up its level of accreditation.

PACUCOA Remote Virtual Accreditation (RVA)
During the two-day Remote Virtual Accreditation, PACUCOA accreditors led by Dr. Ellen SN. Salac thoroughly checked all ten areas for compliance through folder and file sharing and virtual interviews.
These areas are Philosophy and Objectives, Faculty, Instruction, Laboratories, Research, Library, Student Services, Social Orientation and Community Involvement, Physical Plant and Facilities, and Organization and Administration.
Dr. Ortega added that the school is serious in terms of compliance. “We passed all areas. All those sleepless nights and sacrifices paid off after getting the go signal for another level. We thank God for everything and for all the support from the management and from our Founding President Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy“, she said.
The Accreditation team has already laid their plans and the schedule of meetings and orientations in preparation for for the next challenge, the level 1.
BS Criminology gets three-time straight 100% pass rate in Licensure Exam
Meanwhile, the BS in Criminology program, one of the programs included for accreditation celebrates its 100% pass rate during the recently concluded Criminologist Licensure Examination.
It is the third time and straight three times in a row to get the 100% pass rate since the program was first installed.
PACUCOA and FAAP
According to their website, the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) is an umbrella organization of the three accrediting agencies namely ACSU-AAI, PACUCOA, and PAASCU.
These accrediting agencies shall determine whether or not to grant progressive deregulation and other benefits to program applying for accreditation and give formal recognition to an educational institution.
After receiving an endorsement from these agencies, FAAP reviews, approves, and certifies the decisions made by these agencies as authorized by CHED and DepEd.
In addition, these agencies shall attest that the academic program maintains excellent standards in its educational operations, in the context of its aims and objectives.
JMCFI is affiliated with the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).
The Benefits
Accreditation through PACUCOA consists of four (4) levels and eight (8) phases with ‘Institutional Accreditation’ as the highest phase.
Accredited programs will enjoy the benefits after having gone through levels 1-4. Level IV Accredited Status program shall have all the benefits for level I, II and III.
This status also grants full autonomy for the program for the duration of its Level IV accredited status.
Furthermore, Level IV Accredited Status program is granted the authority to offer new graduate programs allied to existing Level IV courses, open learning/distance education and extension classes without need for prior approval by CHED provided that the concerned CHEDRO is duly informed.
